CatholicInsider.com and podcasting...

CatholicInsider.com

"Podcasting from the heart of the Catholic Church."

There's this priest from Holland who has a regularly broadcast program that goes out via the Internet, and this week he was visiting Rome (as many people are during this time of Pope John Paul II's funeral and the conclave of cardinals to elect a new Pope)... It's almost as good as being right there live and underground... bumping into people in St. Peter's square and getting a feel for what it's like.

What's cool is that this audio program is freely available for streaming or just grabbing the MP3 and listening to the broadcast on your media player whenever you have time.

Check out Wikipedia: "podcasting" for more detail about what podcasting is all about. If you've got an iPod (or similar MP3 player) then it makes it really easy to set up an ipodder program to grab whatever you want to listen to and take it with you to listen wherever/whenever you have time.

FYI - There's lots of podcasts out there, specific to many different topics. Anybody with an internet connection and a blog can put up a podcast for people to listen to. (Amazing, and yet, totally scary at the same time...)
