Hey! Guess what!? I got an early B-day present yesterday! yup, that cool Digital SLR I've had my eye on for months and months (almost a year now!). Ended up getting a Nikon D70 cuz it had better features than the Canon Rebel XT. It does 1/8,000 sec shutter speed and has built in metering to take richer (color) pics. I took it out today to Blackrock trails with the Basic Training build crew. It was raining all day, but it stopped long enough for me to take my new camera out of my pack and try it out!
